At the moment, I have carrier groups with hundreds of fighters - all doing various operations across the galaxy. I don't tend to fill my ships with deployables (which the presets tend to do) except in very specific instances - I just don't see the point. This should also apply ammunition with aux ships instead of the low, medium, high presets. The most critical for me is being able to batch upgrade/repair my fleets. Now that being said, what aspects of X4 (or X franchise) needs more depth (or overhaul) in your opinion? and why? If X4 had those aspects (with good AI of course) it would be for me the best space game ever released. I use starsector as an example because I think the way the above aspects are designed in that game is pure genius. That's all the things that i can think of now. Also you get commissions for your actions to make up for the loss of losing some clients. The benefit of that is that you can acquire highest tier equipment and ships from said faction. That means, its enemies will be your enemies. If you are part of one faction, you are literally tied to it. In Starsector, you can be on good terms with all factions, however, you can't be part of all of them at the same time. you can unlock the highest rank of reputation with 0 drawbacks. In X4, you can be part of all factions at the same time. And that adds a tremendous amount of sense of accomplishment when you get a rare bp. You can either acquire via raiding or exploration through RNG. However, the rest, they are considered as "state secret" so can't be bought (which is more logical).

In Starsector, you can only buy low level blueprints (not for any ship too). It is just the same thing as buying a discoverer blueprint. There is no sense of accomplishment when you buy a zeus blueprint. Ok you can argue you need reputation, but as i said earlier that is something that can be acquired passively and by common means. In X4, you can buy every blueprints with money. Not only ships, you can find rare weapons, rare capital ships, rare blueprints, maps, etc.Exploration became fun, exciting and rewarding. Also hostiles can disable "travel mode" to add in the feeling of danger when exploring. There are hazards such as pirate fleets sending fake distress calls or other hostiles trying to ambush you. In Starsector, exploration is pretty dangerous if you are not well prepared. You can explore the whole universe in like 30 minutes. The rewards? none (sorry i dontconsider data vaults as rewards since they offer 0 gameplay value). Also it is 100% safe since you either travel via highway or travel mode. In X4 exploration has only economic benefits (more stations= more clients) nothing else. There are so many aspects of X4 that are designed poorly which is a shame since X4 has the foundation to be a great game but too bad there are so many bad design choices.
